The first time I ever listened to the soundtrack, I thought it was overwhelmingly good. And every time I listen to it, it only becomes better and better. Overall, I liked all the songs included and although all the voices in each song are in almost perfect harmony, you can still hear each individually, which sounds really nice.
My favourite would always be “Malachis,” for it just has lots of pure energy exerted into the song and I think both of the singers had outstanding voices! It matched the personality of their characters and the personality of the song. I feel like I could never get tired of listening to this song. By listening to it, I have learned that you don’t need facial expressions to convey a message and introduce your personality; you can achieve these by putting everything and just feeling the song and the rhythm. This is what I would strive to do the next vocal rehearsal.
My least favourite is the reprise of “What I Dreamed Last Night,” because, first of all, I didn’t think Pinky’s voice suited the song and her character; she almost sounded like a little kid. Also, in some parts of the song, where the girls’ lines are overlapping, it sounded kind of chaotic for me instead of it sounding harmonized. However, I believe CSHC would do a much better job!
Thanks for getting this done so quickly Amelie!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not a huge fan of the song "Malachis" I thought the accompaniment was good and I agree how you can tell what their personalities are, and how you don't need to have the facial expressions to get the message. Really cool observation!
ReplyDeleteI didn't personally mind the song " what I dreamed last night reprise" but I agree in the recording pinky sounded like she as a bit over doing it, the song sounded unorganized but I for sure believe with the time and effort the song will be well done. " Malachi's" wasn't one of my favorites but I didn't not like it for me it was a song that was kind of there, one thing I feel about the song was the difference between their accents and their voices at the end I felt didn't fit well together, I totally agree with personality though, very entertaining and would be very fun to see done. Great job :)
ReplyDeleteGreat work Amelie! You can really tell how well thought out and how hard you worked on this! I agree with you about the "what I dreamed last night", when the three voices were put together it sounded like they were trying to out sing each other instead of blending! Hopefully our school will find a better blend and harmony then the recording!
ReplyDeleteamelie!! youre a great singer and an amazing dance partner. but i think you would benefit from practicing on the moves a bit more and maybe we could do it together!! :)
